We helped release 134 baby turtles at Sunset on the beach at Rincon de Guayabitos. It is part of the effort to repopulate the Turtle population in this area of Mexico. We were blessed that this happened as usually all the releases are finished by November. UP WITH TURTLES !!!

Los Ayala Mexico Our 2010 trip SETTLING IN PART 2 Jan. 7-9,2010

Kathleen welcome you all to the beach at Los Ayala

A great thing happened on Tuesday January 7 when I (Al) was in the neighbouring town of Rincon de Guayabitos(1/2 hour walk north) shopping. I hear someone shout out my name as I am about to walk out of town. I turn and see this  relaxed cowboy hat guy waving at me. I realized that it was Kathleen's brother Keith.

Amazingly we found each other without knowing we were both down in Mexico . Amazing. Kaith and Collen visited us at our beach on the 8th. See pictures below :)

Los Ayala Mexico Our 2010 trip to this beautiful place PART 1 Jan. 3-6,2010

Welcome to the new blog. I wanted to be doing daily posts from Mexico unfortunately that did not happen this year. SO HERE  ARE A SERIES OF POSTS MOSTLY PICTURES IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. I am dividing the posts up by days or events or trips we took. Enjoy.

SUNDAY JANUARY 3, 2010 CHARLIE'S RESTAURANT LOS AYALA,NAYARIT,MEXICO

Here is a picture of Kathleen at the local restaurant Charlie's trying a Margarita. She did not finish it all as she remember she really is not that into alcohol

We got the restaurant to make us guacamole and at the end of the meal we got soft tortillas once they realize we are gringos who actually like Mexican food. the fresh squeezed Orange juice was excellent :)

Veda enjoyed the food even though she was wondering how we were going to order when we knew very little Spanish.

MONDAY JANUARY 4, 2010 OUR FIRST DAY ON THE BEACH AT LOS AYALA :)

We  immediately enjoyed our beachfront bungalow and the mile long beach. We loved all the beach vendors. Veda really liked that food came to her frequently and was delicious.

Above is pictures of Veda and Al's first swim, the pineapple woman who made what Al dubbed "PINEAPPLE MEGALOPOLIS", and a shot of Veda's first siesta.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 6, 2010  THE BEACH AT LOS AYALA :)

Here we are on the beach enjoying coconuts and applying Sun screen :)

Our hotel called "Bungalows El Delfin"(Dolphin bungalows) was a clean place with a great community of  winter people mostly from BC, a couple from Saskatchewan and  a couple from Manitoba. We loved it.

Here are shots of the inside of our room #10 from the top Veda's Bed, Our bed, our closet run amok, and a shot of the kitchen dining room and our bed.
